Rules

1. Tag SFW submissions with #FerditheaWeek2021, and NSFW submissions with #FerditheaWeek2021NSFW and #NSFW.

- You can also tag @FerditheaWeek to get your works RT’d faster.
- An Ao3 collection for the event will be available for writers.

2. NSFW content is allowed, provided both characters are over the age of 18.

- Please do not post anything explicit directly to Twitter—we encourage artists to upload to Privatter or Poipiku, and writers to Ao3.

3. All previews, summaries, and excerpts must be SFW, and all works must include applicable content/trigger warnings.

- We ask that your event works do not include any depictions of sexual assault, incest, underage sex/sexually suggestive situations involving minors, or relationships with large age gaps.
- However, given the nature of Dorothea’s backstory and how integral her traumas are to her character, we will allow the subsequent exploration of such subjects, provided it is done conscientiously and without the intent to titillate.

4. We will only be RTing works that are tagged appropriately and have SFW previews.

- All RTs will be at the discretion of the mods.

During the dates listed above, we’re inviting people to post Ferdithea fanworks inspired by our list of daily prompts. Your submissions can be any medium you’d like: artwork, fanfics, comics, cosplay—anything you can think of!

Is NSFW allowed?

Yes, as long as the characters are over the age of 18, and your work doesn’t contain any direct depictions of the subjects listed in Rule #3. Please use SFW previews and the #FerditheaWeekNSFW and #NSFW hashtags when posting any NSFW content to Twitter, and remember to include your content warnings.

Can you go into more detail about what kinds of content Rule #3 allows?

While we want to ensure the comfort of all event participants and observers, we also don’t want to prevent anyone from portraying the characters/ship in a way that’s meaningful to them or true to their interpretation of canon (within reason, of course). We’d like participants to be able to explore, for example, how the traumatic (or otherwise problematic) events of Dorothea’s backstory could affect her relationship with Ferdinand. What we don’t want is a fic including a scene of sexual assault, or art of a ten-year-old girl naked in a fountain. Please use your best judgment as to what’s appropriate and what isn’t.

Are other characters/ships allowed?

Yes, but keep in mind that this is a Ferdithea event, so their relationship should be the primary focus of your submissions.

Are poly ships allowed?

Yes, but again, this is a Ferdithea-centric event.

Does their relationship have to be romantic?

No, but we ask that you don’t include any other ships involving Ferdinand or Dorothea if you choose to focus on their friendship (or lack thereof).
